Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! Or is too late to say that now, as we are closing in on March. Regardless, I hope 2026 brings you hope, time with loved ones, and a renewed focus on making this planet of ours a better place for everyone (and that will be my only ‘political’ message for this post). For those that follow the Chinese horoscope, the New Year is pending. More on that next time!

I spent a portion of the past few weeks re-reading my previous posts (in between shovelling snow on a seemingly daily basis. I would include a photo of the scene outside my home but I’m fairly sure the majority of residents in our country/continent could match or exceed anything I share). In doing so, (the re-reading, not the shovelling) I’ve come to realize that I spend as much time discussing issues of interest to me as I do my writing. However, one line in a blog did ring true: I am a world class procrastinator.

In several posts I wrote my next novel, the sequel to The Perfect Circus - Redux, will be out in Autumn, 2025. I did so on several occasions with perfect (pun intended) certainty. Well, to state the obvious, I did not meet that self-imposed deadline. And frankly, I won’t for several months yet (did I mention I am a world-class you know what…).

But enough self-flagellation, mild as it was. Over the past few months I did accomplish a project that took me back to my early days as a writer. I completed a short story which I am quite pleased with and received positive reviews from my beta readers. I look forward to sharing it in the future.

I am also in the early stages of another creative project. While this is more multimedia it will stretch my creative skills which in itself makes it worthwhile regardless of the outcome.

So, I am ready. Ready and pumped. This is my year. I am calling out to the traditional publishers out there and Netflix producers: ‘Come get my projects while they are relatively inexpensive (but never cheap)’.

Thank you as always for being on this journey with me. It is a true joy sharing this with you.

And in that same vein, I’ve changed my mind. Here was the scene outside of our window last night. My significant other coined it Snowmageddon!

(For those that are wondering, the first photo was taken at the National Art Gallery in Ottawa in December, 2025. It is an incredible place and well-worth the visit.)

It's getting a bit stale to start my next blog wit the phrase, it's been a while . But yes, it's been a while. This is not to say I haven't been busy, including my writing. But more on that in a momen
