We're Finally Here!

Yes - as foretold in my last blog (and in a recent e-mail to many of you), it’s finally here! There was Independence Day (a movie I have to say I enjoyed); Liberation Day (best described by Winston Churchill - a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma); and finally Release Day, perhaps appropriately (for Canadians at least) being on April 28, 2025.
The Perfect Circus/Redux will be available on Amazon as both an e-book, and as a paperback. In a week or so, it will be available on a number of additional platforms, courtesy of Draft2Digital.
What brought me here? What finally overcame the barriers I described in my previous blog? First, credit has to go to our national newspaper. I recently celebrated a birthday. My annual
horoscope read as follows: Dare to dream. Dare to believe. Dare to be different. The message of your birthday chart for the coming 12 months is that all things are possible and that a creative endeavour of some kind could make you a star - and even a rich one at that.
Given that message, one has to believe the universe is on my side. And who am I to stand in the way of fate? Now, all I need is the bright creative minds of some streaming service to recognize the incredible value of turning my novel into a mini-series (you did note ‘the rich one at that’ in my horoscope…).
On a more serious note, I could not have reached this point without considerable help. My thanks to Amalia Fowler, of Good AF Consulting. Her guidance from the very first days has been, and continues to be, invaluable.
I want to acknowledge the assistance of Michael Pietrobon of Foglio Custom Book Specialists. I have already detailed my challenges in dealing with the intricacies around
self-publishing. It was Michael from Foglio who made it possible to deliver a far more professional product.
I have mentioned Julia Brevetti (brevettiart@gmail.com) before and am pleased to do so again. She is the artist whose work on the book’s cover really brought the imagery of the world I created to life.
Finally, just as I was close to the end, Lou Vertolli, my good friend and co-author of The Seventh Year of the Manna Bird (traditionally published as well), gave the final push to get me to the finish line.
My sincere thanks to Amalia, Michael, Julia and Lou.
I hope you enjoy the novel. I look forward to your feedback; would welcome reviews on Amazon or Goodreads; telephone or tell a friend, or simply a message or e-mail.
Suffice to say, I truly appreciate your support.
